Dear Steenbergen Middle School Lions and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are excited to welcome our newest Lions to the Steenbergen Middle School family. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the families who joined us at the LCISD Back-to-School Block Party. It was wonderful connecting with so many of you, and we look forward to continuing those connections throughout the school year.

As we prepare to welcome students on Tuesday, August 11, our goal is to provide every student with a successful and memorable school year. We believe success is built through strong relationships, consistent routines, high-quality instruction, and a safe, nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.

Please review the following important information with your child before the first day of school.

The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. This year, our campus will begin utilizing metal detectors as part of our security procedures. To help ensure a smooth and efficient arrival process, students will be asked to remove binders, umbrellas, and glass cases from their backpacks before entering the building.

To help students avoid carrying everything at once, we encourage families to send school supplies throughout the first week of school. Students may bring a few items each day as they become familiar with their schedules and routines.

Please ensure your child knows how they will be getting home each day. Having a clear transportation plan will help prevent delays during dismissal. We also appreciate your patience during the first week of school as transportation routes are finalized and bus drivers become familiar with their assigned routes. Dismissal may take a little longer than usual, but these procedures help ensure a safe and orderly process for all students.

We are honored to partner with you in your child's education and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and achievement. We are also excited to see our Lions and their families on Wednesday, August 5, for Meet the Teacher! We can't wait to welcome you to our campus and kick off another incredible school year together.
